What is Linear equation
Linear equation is a equation that represent the straight line in the form of x axis and y axis. in a graphical representation that passes through x and y coordinate according to x and y values.
if equation are degree two then that called Quadratic equation not linear
There are mainly two type of linear equation
1) One Variable Linear equation
2) Two variables linear equation
One Variable Linear equation
ax=b where a and b are real number
x=b/a where a not zero
Example
2x-7=9
2x+2=6
5x-10=2x-1
Two variables linear equation
We write linear equation as:
y=mx+b
there is two variable x and y
where m represents slope or gradient and b represents y intercept.
if Linear equation represented by f(x)=x then 1 is its slope.
if Linear equation represented by f(x)=c straight line with c slope.
Example of two variable linear equation
2x+1y=6
x+y=2
x+2y=4
graphical representation of linear equation 2x+2y=4 or x+y=2
In above equation x+y=2 if we put value of x and y as zero then we get value of x and y axis interception point.
if we put x =0 then value of y=2 means line intercept y axis at point (0,2) and if we put value of y=0 then value of x=2 means line also intercept at point
point (2,0). so line passes through point (0,2) and (2,0).
graphical representation of linear equation y=2x+4 or y/2=x+2
line passes through point (0,4) and (-2,0).
